POSITION: Medical Administrative Assistant – Part-Time

JOB DESCRIPTION:
In this role, you will:
- Answer phones – courteously and professionally
- Schedule consultations, follow-ups, sleep lab study tests, etc.
- Verify referrals
- Update insurance information
- Answer general patient questions
- Collect co-pays
- Sorting, filing, and scanning patient charts
- Other duties as assigned
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in medical office preferred
- Experience using Accuro EMR (electronic medical record) is an asset
- Relevant post-secondary education preferred
- A focus on high-quality patient care
- Enthusiasm for learning
- Clean CPIC with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact tactfully with staff, physicians, other hospital staff and other clients
- Ability to work harmoniously in a team environment
- Proven ability to perform duties independently, with a high degree of motivation and minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
- Bilingualism is an asset
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
- Regularly work on repetitive tasks
- Regularly use headphones and earpiece
