POSITION: Medical Administrative Assistant – Part-Time

LOCATION: Kingston, ON

JOB DESCRIPTION:

In this role, you will:

  • Answer phones – courteously and professionally
  • Schedule consultations, follow-ups, sleep lab study tests, etc.
  • Verify referrals
  • Update insurance information
  • Answer general patient questions
  • Collect co-pays
  • Sorting, filing, and scanning patient charts
  • Other duties as assigned

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in medical office preferred
  • Experience using Accuro EMR (electronic medical record) is an asset
  • Relevant post-secondary education preferred
  • A focus on high-quality patient care
  • Enthusiasm for learning
  • Clean CPIC with Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact tactfully with staff, physicians, other hospital staff and other clients
  • Ability to work harmoniously in a team environment
  • Proven ability to perform duties independently, with a high degree of motivation and minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
  • Bilingualism is an asset

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
  • Regularly work on repetitive tasks
  • Regularly use headphones and earpiece
